We are edging closer to launching. The children’s project has been all but approved, we are just waiting on official written word for the green light! On this week’s ‘to-do’ list for preparation was assigning roles for all children to have on launch day and sourcing the best recording devices to send in the payload.
Aside from the experience of being the only primary school in Northern Ireland to send a weather balloon to the Edge of Space, the children are very conscious of the science based investigation they are carrying out. To monitor the change in atmosphere as the balloon rises and falls back to Earth, they will place something inside and compare its condition before and after launch. Now the big decision- what will we send?
