Sporting Success At Ballymacrickett

Date: May 16, 2015 Author: Niall Categories: News

Ballymacrickett Primary School demonstrated great sporting prowess this week in both Gaelic and Soccer.

On Thursday 14th May the boys of primary six and seven took part in the Large Schools League tournament. The boys demonstrated great skill throughout. They played three matches in the group stage overcoming all three teams and even a local derby against St. Jospeh’s, Crumlin in the final match. This led them to the final against Rasharkin. This was a very tight affair with both teams demonstrating a desire to win and why they got to the final. However, with the score and three each heading into the second half, our boys finished the game strongly. We would like to thank the organisers of this great event and we look forward to trying to defend our title next year.

On Friday 15th May the boys of primary six and seven took part in a soccer tournament in Crumlin Community Centre. This event demonstrated great skill from all the teams taking part. Ballymacrickett performed magnificently! In fact throughout the whole tournament Ballymacrickett only conceded one goal. This led them to a final against St. Joseph’s Crumlin. This was a very tense and tight affair but Ballymacrickett prevailing in the final with a scoreline of 1-0.
