Ballymacrickett played in the final St. Michael’s Tournament ever on Thursday 18th June. There was a lot of talent on show and it started off straight away in the group stages. Ballymacrickett won two out of the three matches in their group stages. The one match they lost was a great match that could have went either way. Tannaghmore P.S. the eventual winners of the cup competition showed great hunger and talent after losing to Ballymacrickett at the beginning of the year. Their desire is ultimately the deciding factor winning 2-3 to 1-4 in a match that would have been a fitting final. This meant Ballymacrickett ended up playing for the shield. Although not at their best they came through beating St. Brendan’s 0-5 to 0-4 in the semi-final and then St. Patrick’s Derrymacash in the final 0-4 to 0-1. It was a fitting way to end the year for these boys and girls. It was a hugely successful yearfor the gaelic footballers. Well done to everyone involved!
