Ballymacrickett Win Tournament

Date: September 25, 2014 Author: admin Categories: News

On Friday 19th September Ballymacrickett travelled to St. Paul’s, Lurgan to take part in a Gaelic football tournament. The boys and girl from Ballymacrickett produced three great performances in the group stages defeating Lurgan Model, St. Teresa’s and St. Mary’s, Derrytrasna. This put Ballymacrickett through to the quarter finals and they were drawn to play St. Patrick’s, Aghagallon. The team again put in a great performance and got through to the semi-final. They were drawn against St. Mary’s, Derrytrasna again from the group stages. In a ding-dong battle a couple of goals towards the end seen off the Derrytrasna men. In the final Ballymacrickett were drawn against Lurgan heavyweights Tannaghmore PS. This match demonstrated a high level of skill and quality from both teams but Ballymacrickett dug deep and came through on a scoreline of 1-3 to 0-4. We would like to extend our thanks to St. Paul’s for organising a great day and for Mr. McCrory and Mrs. Fox who provided transport on the day. Congratulations once again to the team.
